The publication also highlighted details of the new rules for next season, stating that any dragging or obstructing of opposing players during set-pieces will be monitored more strictly by referees. Last season, Mikel Arteta’s side often benefited from this strategy, with Ben White, in particular, often getting in the way of the opposing team’s goalkeeper getting out to grab the ball.
The Gunners’ goalkeeping tactics played a major role last season, with the Gunners scoring the most goals from set-pieces (excluding penalties) – 22 – of which 16 came from corners.
